my refrigerator freezes things. I have turned the dial in both directions and left it for a bit, to see if things would thaw, and no matter what they still freeze. not everything freezes. I have four mellow persimmons that have been in there for a week, and they haven't frozen. the cheese doesn't freeze, and the eggs haven't yet. but my sprouts, onions, zuchini, water and soy milk froze. my freakin' tofu froze. on the upside, I did discover as a result that tofu, when frozen and thawed, goes back to its original consistency, only a bit spongier so that it's easier to squeeze the water out. if I could read the instructions it might help...I did make a pitiful attempt with my korean dictionary to figure out what the dial said...I can read korean letters now kind of, and I had a go at sounding out the words...but either I was reading them wrong or they're not numbers after all, because I did not come up with the words for any numbers. that's the hard thing about korean (or any language with a different alphabet), you have to learn to read a whole new set of letters and learn which sounds they correspond with, and then once you can read the korean words you have to translate them into english. many steps involved there.

yesterday one of my kids made a pun in english...we were talking about sports, and badminton came up (it's apparently very popular here), and he said "teacher...badminton, it's bad." and I said "yes, it's a very bad minton!" and he said "yes, very very bad minton!" heheheheh. I love it when a kid is as big of a dork as I am.
